Interactive Japanese Learning: Video Games, Culture and Language Essentials is a unique course that combines language learning with the exciting world of video games and Japanese culture. This course is designed to help students improve their Japanese language skills through interactive gameplay and cultural immersion. By learning Japanese in a fun and engaging way, students will not only improve their language proficiency but also gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.

The objectives of this course are to introduce students to basic Japanese language skills such as vocabulary, grammar, and kanji, while also exploring the rich cultural aspects of Japan through video games. Students will learn how to communicate effectively in Japanese, understand common phrases and expressions, and engage in meaningful cultural exchanges. By the end of the course, students will be able to read basic sentences, navigate basic conversations in Japanese and gain a deeper appreciation for Japanese culture.

Wagotabi: Engage in cultural exchanges and conversations with exciting characters in Wagotabi. Learn common phrases and expressions such as greetings and conversation starters, while doing fun challenges ingame.

Unpacking: Get a sense of the Japanese language and basic vocabulary through an innovative gameplay video, in which you will understand most of the vocabulary and grammar I teach to you in a natural way.

Sims 4: Explore Japanese culture and the language through Sims 4 Snowy Escape and Unpacking.

Key Course Concepts:

• Chapter 1: Learn all the hiragana in 2 weeks, then practice with the Ninja minigame in Wagotabi.
• Chapter 2: Learn all the katakana in 2 weeks, then practice with the Ninja minigame in Wagotabi.

• Chapter 3: Introducing basic vocabulary and grammar: Learn Basic Grammar, 20+ words and key phrases.
• Chapter 4: In this chapter I will encourage you to understand natural Japanese and start using Japanese words for the objects around you. First, we practice this in Unpacking.
• Chapter 5: We move on to Sims 4 Snowy Escape, in which we get to know a language exchange student, Emma-san. As well as an authentic Japanese household.
• Chapter 6: I give you further tips on how to learn Japanese in a do-it-yourself way, with video games and additional resources from my course and from the internet.
